Day 01. Bali (Sanur/Kuta/Denpasar) – Ijen area

We pick you up at your hotel in the morning. It is a three hours drive to Gilimanuk, the village where the ferry leaves for Java. The cross over takes one hour, after which we drive to a restaurant at the seashore to have lunch. Then we drive to the Ijen Plateau (1.5 - 2 hours). You still have enough time to enjoy the surroundings and visit the plantation. You spent the night in a homestay at the Ijen Plateau or in a luxurious hotel on the southeast slope of Mount Ijen.

Day 02. Explore the Ijen area

After breakfast you can explore the area around the village Blawan and visit for example the strawberry garden and the coffee plantation, strawberry and macadamia nuts home industry, waterfalls and the coffee factory. After a day of exploring, relax in hot spring with sulphur. We spent the night in the same hotel as on day 01.

Day 03. Ijen trekking – Ketapang/Bali

At around 5 o'clock in the morning you have breakfast with coffee or tea, before we depart with a 4WD. Plantations and rain forest pass by on a short drive (around 1 hour) to Paltuding. Paltuding is the 'entrance' to the Ijen crater. You need about one hour to walk the three kilometres to the edge of the crater. Enjoy the sea of colours while standing on the top; the red-brownish crater rim, the greenish lake and the yellow sulphur is an astonishing view. Besides, you can see a lot of  sulphur miners carrying loads as heavy as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. After you have fully enjoyed Kawah Ijen, there still is time to visit the sulphur factory where sulphur is purified and packed. Then we drive you to the harbour, to catch the ferry to Bali. We can either drop you at the harbour or drop you somewhere in Bali.
